UPDATED STORY: Flooding is causing problems across the island.
The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to Bungalow is shut until 5pm.
The Verandah has been affected by flooding.
Earlier, police closed the Glen Helen road from Ballig Bridge to Cronk-y-Voddy, but that has now re-opened.
The Poortown Road from its junction with Ballig Bridge to its junction with the Glen Moar Road (turn off to Tynwald Mills) has been closed until 5pm.
Sulby Claddagh is also closed from from its juntions with Sulby Glen Road and Ginger Hall until 9am tomorrow (Tuesday).
A police spokesman said: ‘There is a lot of standing water on the majority of roads and motorists are advised to make only necessary journeys, to leave in plenty of time and drive according to the conditions.’
A spokesman for the Department of Infrastructure said: ‘The majority of weather-related problems experienced earlier today have now been dealt with, however with this unsettled spell of weather is likely to continue with more rain forecast for tomorrow morning.
‘The public are once again reminded to “self-prepare” for flooding by collecting a few sandbags in order to protect their property these are available free of charge from civic amenity sites around the island.’
