VIDEO: Castletown reels as high tides and storm surge cause more problems

Waiting for Video...

The Isle of Man suffered more flooding yesterday (Monday) as strong winds and high tides caused added misery for residents already reeling from last week’s events.

Isle of Man Newspapers photographer Mike Wade visited Castletown, where he captured the attached footage and spoke to one resident who offered her view of the problems.

Beth Cannan, of Hope Street, said: ‘It’s not often it happens, but it is the second time that it’s been this bad since 2002 and yes, something needs to be done.’

This week’s Manx Independent will feature comprehensive coverage of the floods and storm damage.
