We want to get all the Isle of Man’s tractors here

TRACTOR enthusiasts are to gather again for a special event later in the year.

‘Tractor Fest’ will be held at Kella Farm, Sulby, on Saturday, September 28.

The news follows a successful event two years ago.

‘After careful consideration the Tractor Fest team have decided to once again stage the event under the banner of Tractor Fest 2013,’ said organiser James Graham.

‘A few friends got together at the beginning of August 2011 to discuss plans for an event of the likes never seen before on the Isle of Man.

‘Organised within five weeks, which must have been a record in itself, we managed to get 105 tractors together in one place at one time and on Saturday September 17 we witnessed a spectacle of 105 tractors travelling up and down a stubble field at Kella Farm to set a new record for the island of the most tractors gathered together at one time. Vintage, classic and modern tractors of all makes, shapes and sizes joined in the fun.’

He added: ‘This year we hope to have many more tractors all with soil engaging equipment to break the 2011 record.’

There will be more to keep visitors and participants busy throughout the day.

There will be vintage, classic and modern tractor displays, tractor dyno testing, tractor see-saw competitions, tractor tug-o-war for different age groups. Various agricultural related demonstrations will be on going throughout the day and there will be much more to keep everyone occupied.

Agricultural and tractor dealers as well as those from the automotive sector will also be there.

‘It would be great to see all the tractors on the island partake and with everyone’s help this could be quite achievable,’ said James.
