Lloyds Bank has announced its sponsorship of the Isle of Man Young Photographer of the Year award, in conjunction with Isle of Man Newspapers.

The competition will allow 12,000 potential participants between the ages of six to 17 to take photographs on their mobile phone, tablet or camera to express how they feel about Manx life.

Entries close on April 29, with winners for individual themes and an overall winner announced at the end of May.

Peter Reid, island director, Lloyds Bank, said: ‘We’re delighted to be partnering with Isle of Man Newspapers in this new initiative. Supporting creativity in our island’s youth is very important and this competition is a great opportunity to showcase local talent.

‘As a leading bank in the community we want to be involved at every level, from the judging, to the prizes, to the exhibition, and in May we invite all Manx residents to visit our Douglas branch to view the winning entries.’

Along with other prizes, the Manx Young Photographer of the Year will be given the chance to photograph a high-profile event sponsored by Lloyds in conjunction with Manx Heritage.

Entry packs are available from Sally Ann Maiden. Email sally-ann.maiden@newsiom.co.im or phone 695649.
