Two of QEII High School’s Year 8 (12 to 13 year olds) tutor groups raised £347.43 for Cancer Research UK.

The groups, 8Hke and 8Eay, were challenged to raise as much as possible during the first school term for their chosen charity.

Some of the fundraising activities the groups arranged were a basketball shootout, a football tournament, a loud tights and tie day, a crazy nail and hair day, a pyjama day, guess the age of the Teddy Bear, guess the name of the snowman, and also a cake sale.

Tutor group 8Mbr meanwhile raised money for its chosen charity, MacMillan Cancer Support.

Three girls, Kate Dowling, Darcie Gray and Grace Yates took on a bike riding challenge from Peel to Douglas and back and raised a total of £155.48 ,which they presented to MacMillan fundraising manager, Lisa Wild. Pictured is the Cancer Research UK cheque being presented.
