The island’s children have been getting into the spirit of Hop tu Naa by carving turnips at Cregneash.
Sunday saw the tradition of lantern carving, with live music, traditional song and dance, as well as recipes and superstitions shared.
The day also featured seasonal produce from a Farmers’ Market, The Apple Orphanage, a hog roast and face painting.
Every year Cregneash welcomes hundreds of children to the farm to choose their turnips, which are supplied free of charge.
Niarbyl will be hosting a Hop tu Naa Mhelliah Supper tomorrow (Friday) with a three-course harvest supper, live music, a turnip and pumpkin carving competition and a fancy dress competition.
