TRIBUTES have been paid to former public transport boss David Howard who died earlier this week.
Mr Howard quit as public transport director in February last year, after six and half years in charge of the Island's buses and railways.

He left the Isle of Man to start his own bus company in East Sussex.

On Sunday he suffered a suspected a heart attack and was admitted to hospital, where he died on Tuesday. He was 63.

Former colleagues, including head of railways Paul Ogden, are due to travel from the Island to attend his funeral service at Pevensey Church at 10am on Tuesday.

Mr Ogden said: 'He was a friend as well as a colleague. It's very sad news and he will be greatly missed.

'There are a lot of people who had a lot of affection and time for David right across the bus and rail operation. He went round and took an interest in the people who worked for him.'
