A vintage bus operated between Douglas Head and the bus station and 500 people attended the event.

Activities included kite-making, Punch and Judy, a circus skills workshop and performances and a fancy dress competition.

There were performances from Samba Mann, Manx Youth Theatre, Manx Concert Brass Ensemble, Hediya Arabic Dance and Manx music from Skeeal.

It was organised by the Department of Tourism and Leisure, Douglas Development Partnership, Isle of Man Arts Council, Douglas Council, the Victorian Society and Manx Radio.

DTL head of arts and entertainment Dawn Maddrell said: 'We were very keen to see the ampitheatre used again on Douglas Head. It used to be very popular in the Victorian era. It's a little gem that's overlooked too often.'

The event was also used to raise awareness of the Camera Obscura.
