ON A day when several games succumbed to the weather, Bacchas A bounced back from the previous weekend's defeat to claim victory over Falcons A, and in doing so end Neil Crowe's side's unbeaten record.
Goals from Dave Kneale, Karl Moore, Kelly Shimmin, James Wright and Sharon Pope sealed the win for the Tromode side.

The Falcons goals came courtesy of a brace from Kim Carney and a single strike from all-round sportswoman Karen Faragher.

G4S
Valkyrs A secured back-to-back victories when they ended Ramsey A's 100 per cent record. Gareth Morris, Neil Jacobs and Russell Miller netted for the westerners. Sarah Breen was the only Ramsey player to find the net.

Bacchas B secured their first points of the season with a 4-1 victory over Phoenix A. Chris Evans led the way for the Tromode side with a brace, joined on the scoresheet by Richard le Page and Eric Critchley. Jane Ryder grabbed Phoenix's only goal.

Division One
G4S Valkyrs B maintained their good run of form when they defeated Saracens A.

Jonathon Hull and Sam Quinn netted two goals apiece while Steve Lowe rounded off the scoring. No details of the Saracens scorers were received.

G4S Valkyrs C emerged the right side of a seven goal thriller to defeat Saxons. Tim Groves led the way for the westerners with two goals, with Ashley Hall and Nick Watt adding further goals. Richard Gelder, Delta Williams and Oli Steriopulos replied for Saxons.

Division Two
Ravens maintained their winning streak with victory over Bacchas D. Peter Clucas led the way for Ravens with two goals and John Verrall added a third.

Tim Leeming was the only Bacchas player to find the net.
Harlequins ensured their 100% record stayed intact when coming from two goals down to defeat Rookies. Goals from Pete Godwin, Pete Nuttall, Ali Hird and Ali Middleton were enough to seal the win.

Rookies replied through Matt Robertson, Chris Wells and Jackie Turley

Division Three
Kestrels ended Cushags unbeaten start to the season when claiming a 5-2 victory in the lunchtime fixture at Ramsey Grammar School.

Today's Vote

UK chain Pets at Home is poised to open a megastore at an industrial park after Local Government Minister John Shimmin overturned a decision by planners to refuse permission for two massive retail units out of town. Should it be allowed to set up here?
Yes. It's only a case of fair competition and there's nothing wrong with that.
No. It will hit other established businesses and appears to go against previous government policy on out of town retail.
Not sure. Have no objection to Pets at Home but think the government needs to establish a clearer policy on out of town retail.
