LIVERPOOL'S Carolynn Sells became the first woman to win a Southern 100 race outright when she took her Martin Bullock 400cc VFR Honda to victory in the combined Classic and Junior race.
She led all six laps to win by 10 seconds from Mick Moreton, who opted for his modern machine rather than his Classic Matchless.

Third was Jules Ray (Honda), with the first Classic home Malcolm Kneale's TD1C Yamaha in 12th place.

Elle Forrest was the first female to win at the Southern, and like Carolynn it was a class win. The difference is that Carolynn actually also won the race outright.
