Tough draw for holders

Have your say

Cronkbourne, the Standard Bank Tinker Cup holders, will face a tough challenge defending their trophy after the draw for the 2013 season has given them a tricky away tie at Crosby.

The Marown team are renowned cup fighters and the Tromode side must be at their best if they are to progress.

The other games in the first round see Peel facing a stiff challenge from Union Mills and Ramsey at home to Valkyres. Castletown have a bye.

The draw has also been made for the first two rounds of the Standard Bank Blincoe Cup.

Ramsey B travel to Garey Mooar to meet last year’s winners, Union Mills. The Millers will need to be careful as the northern side have plenty of depth in both batting and bowling.

Whoever wins meets Valkyres B in the second round which could be quite a battle.

Also in the first round those two Greeba rivals, Crosby B and St John’s, face off and Grasshoppers take on Peel B.

The tie of the first round could be when a rejuvenated Finch Hill play at home against Ronaldsway.

The Finches were promoted last year and this will be a real test of how well they are doing.

Cronkbourne have two sides in this season’s competition, Cronkbourne B and Cronkbourne Bacchas. Both have byes into round two, as do Valkyres B and Castletown B.
