Ellan Vannin CC is promoting the Appleby Sportive on Bank Holiday Monday, May 4.

The event consists of a choice of four courses: 38km, 72km, 100km and 118Km, all starting and finishing at Ramsey Rugby Club, Mooragh Promenade, Ramsey.

The 38km is a flat route around the Northern Plains and is suitable for all abilities. The 72, 100 and 118km routes have one, two and three major climbs respectively; Druidale, Slieau Whallian and the Sloc.

Participants may start anytime between 9 and 10am, although slower riders for the longer distances are advised to go off as close to 9 o’clock as possible. Entry includes third party insurance, electronic timing, energy bar and a refreshment voucher for after the event. An entry fee of £20 applies for entry on the day but only £15 for online entries made in advance via or the British Cycling website.

As this is not a race, there are no prizes, but any surplus generated by the event is used to fund the Appleby Juvenile Circuit Championships held in July.
