Leon Rider of the Month

LEON Mazzone has been voted Team Royal London 360’s latest Rider of the Month.

The Ramsey youngster picks up the award for his excellent end-of-season form.

In the penultimate round of his own club’s Tuesday night Youth League at the NSC he produced one of the rides of the series in the very competitive under-16 class, attacking the field early on in the race and soloing to a very impressive victory. This secured him joint second place in the final overall standings. He went on to win the juvenile class in the inaugural Port St Mary Nocturne and help Royal London 360’s A team win the Shoprite Cycle for Life relay around the TT course for the second year in succession.

Leon’s off-island results during the period were equally impressive.

In the Errigal International Youth Tour in Ireland he finished 14th overall, crowning a fine performance with a brilliant win in the fourth and final stage in Letterkenny.

He was also the top Manx rider in the British national final of the GHS 10 mile time trial championship, clocking a speedy 23.08 for 19th place in a large field of 130 riders.

In recognition of his achievements Leon receives a commemorative trophy and £50 in cash.
