Third win for Cavendish

MARK Cavendish honoured the world champion’s jersey to the very end with a blistering uphill sprint victory on cobbles in the final stage of the Tour of Britain on Sunday.

Riding in the world champion’s rainbow jersey for the last time before this coming weekend’s UCI Road Race World Championships in Holland, Cav powered across the finish line in Guildford a clear winner from Boy Van Poppell.

The Tour was won by Devon’s Jonathan Tiernan-Locke by 18 seconds from Nathan Haas of Australia.
