Castletown’s Helen Cooper has become the latest recipient of the Warehouse Fitness Limited-sponsored Women’s Player of the Month award.
Because of the number of postponed fixtures and the island team in action, this covers the months of March and April.
Helen first made a number her name with DHSOB before transferring to Castletown this season where she continued to put in a number of impressive displays in midfield for the southern club.
She has fought off a lot of stiff competition from Gymnasium and island pair Gillian Christian and quadruple Player of the Year Eleanor Gawne, Corinthians up-and-coming youngster Lisa Costain and another young rising star Colby’s Sarah Wignall.
The final presentation will take place at the Football Writers Annual Awards evening where two new prizes will be included.
The player(s) that have accumulated the most marks over league games will be presented with the Women’s and Under-21s Player of the Year awards and will receive a year’s free membership at Warehouse Fitness Limited.
The winners of these awards will be announced in due course.
Player ratings for March and April: 1, Helen Cooper (Castletown) 11 points; 2, Gillian Christian (Gymnasium) 10; Lisa Costain (Corinthians) 9; Eleanor Gawne (Gymnasium) 8; Sarah Wignall (Colby) 7.
