White beat Gymns 6-1 in second match of season on Sunday

CORINTHIANS made it two wins out of two in the Warehouse Fitness Women’s league with a 6-1 win over Gymnasium on Sunday.

Winning 2-0 at the break, Jade Burden (3), Sarah O’Reilly, Lauren Christian and Jenna McStay scoring for the Whites, the Tromode side’s response came via an Alannah Hall effort.

Rushen registered their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against DHSOB. The Spaniards were leading 1-0 at half-time through Carole Kneen, only for the Blackberry Lane outfit to equalise in the second half with a Rachael Warrillier-Grant effort.

Peel started their league campaign with a 5-2 win over Castletown after the pair had been level 2-2 at the break. Maxine Smalley (2), Ellan Cleator, Nicola Naden and Mel McKnight netted for the westerners, the southern response came via an Justine Carran effort and a Kerry Beattie own goal.

Douglas Royal registered the biggest win of the day with a 21-1 win over a recently reformed Laxey. Leading 10-1 at the break, Donna Shimmin (6), Leanne Quayle (4), Bekkie Colquitt (4), Becci Pate (2), Zoe Hawley (2), Sarah Breen (2) and Tracy Craig netted for the Whites, the Miners’ reply came via a Rhiannon Brew penalty.
