CORINTHIANS won the 33rd Noble’s Park/Ballafletcher derby, defeating Douglas Royal 3-1 in the Warehouse Fitness Women’s Only-sponsored League on Sunday.
With the scores tied 1-1 at half-time, Sarah ‘Dippy’ Kerford (2) and Lauren Christian netted for the current champions, while Royal’s reply came via a Donna Shimmin strike.
Elsewhere, DHSOB continue to improve with a 6-0 win over Colby. Leading 4-0 at the break, Hattie Castle (2), Helen Cooper, Rachael Christian, Wendy Gurney and an own goal sealed the points for the Blackberry Lane outfit.
Rushen United clinched their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over eight-player Laxey. The southerners lead 2-1 at the intermission, Carole Kneen (2), Nicole Rooney (2) and Shannon Blake scored for the Croit Lowey outfit and the Miners’ response came via strikes from Rhiannon Brew and Jane Irvine.
The match involving Gymnasium v Castletown was scratched.
