ST George’s put bottom-of-the-table Marown to the sword on Wednesday evening with a 9-0 thrashing in the Canada Life Premier League.
With Geordies having already been crowned champions and Marown relegated to JCK Division Two, there was little at stake in the contests at Glencrutchery Road but the hosts were in no mood to ease off as they dominated Dave Brew’s Crosby side.
Frank Jones led the way for the Saints as he netted a hat-trick while Calum Morrissey and Gary Quirk each grabbed a brace. There were also single strikes for Ciaran McNulty and Chris Bass Jr.
Elsewhere in the top flight, Ramsey and Corinthians both recorded 4-0 victories against Union Mills and Gymns respectively. No details of the scorers were received.
In the only game in JCK Division Two, Michael United scraped a dramatic 2-2 draw at Pulrose thanks to Paul Corlett’s last-minute equaliser. An own goal had earlier given the westerners the lead but two goals from Pully turned the game on its head before Corlett’s late intervention.
There was also just a single game in JCK Combination Two as Onchan triumphant by the odd goal in five against Billy Goat Park. No details of Foxdale’s scorers were received but Kraig Marsh, Daniel Bentham and Robbie Prescott netted for the Os.
