United beat Onchan 4-1 to clinch promotion and title on goal difference

MICHAEL United sealed the JCK Division Two title in nail-biting fashion last night beating Onchan 4-1 to secure the second-tier trophy on goal difference from RYCOB and Colby.

Youthie will join Michael in the Premier League next season, but agonisingly Colby miss out after all three finished on 55 points.

An own goal gave United the lead in a tense opening to proceedings at Balleira Road before Dave Reynolds settled home nerves further with a second just after the half-time interval.

Reynolds’s fellow hat-trick hero at the weekend, Matty Brand added a third to effectively secure the spoils before Silver Boot contender Paul Corlett added penalty to start the celebrations in earnest.

Onchan, who had earlier been foiled from the penalty spot by goalkeeper Will Mitchell added a consolation strike in the closing stages when Daniel Bentham headed home.
