Millers edge past Braddan to stay top

UNION Mills remain at the top of JCK Division Two after they beat Braddan 0-1 at Victoria Road on Tuesday.

AJ Suckling scored the only goal of the game for the Millers while the same player also had a effort ruled out for offside after being played through on goal by keeper Christian Cellamare.

The Swans defended resolutely throughout the contest, with Craig Hardie producing a series of good saves, but the visitors remained in control and deserved their win which sees them top the table.

Marown are in hot pursuit of Derek Cowley’s Millers after they maintained their 100 per cent start to the campaign with a 3-0 victory over Douglas and District, with Richie Mulhern, Ryan Holdaway and Juan Killip grabbing the goals.

Elsewhere Onchan’s recent up turn in form continued with a 4-0 victory over Colby at the Nivison Stadium.

Douglas Royal were the division’s big winners, beating Ronaldsway 5-1 at Ballafletcher. Craig Dolman was the hero for the hosts as he netted a hat-trick, while there were further goals for Paul Whitley and Aaron Quinn.

There were tighter games at both Foxdale and Malew.

At the former Pulrose emerged 0-1 victors thanks to a goal from substitute Spencer Bell.
