Union Mills gave themselves a massive boost in their bid for Canada Life Premier League survival with an impressive victory at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.

The Millers began the day level on points with second-from-bottom Ramsey but the Garey Mooar side triumphed by the odd goal in seven at the Bowl against the Saints.

Laxey bounced back from three successive defeats in style with a fine 2-1 victory away at DHSOB, Sean Gavin and an own goal sealing all three points for the Miners.

Another side to boost their hopes of qualifying for the Railway Cup was Rushen United who claimed a hard-fought 2-0 win at home to Ramsey, with Furo Davies netting both goals.

There’s no change at the top of the table as the leading two sides, St George’s and Peel, both picked up maximum points.

Geordies did so in style by thrashing Ayre United 11-0 at Glencrutchery Road, while a Kerron Christian double was enough to clinch a hard-fought 2-0 win for Peel at home to western rivals St John’s.

The other game in the top flight saw Corinthians romp to a 6-0 win at home to RYCOB thanks largely to Danny Oram.
