Vagabonds beat Ramsey in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two

VAGABONDS won a titanic battle at Mooragh Park, beating Ramsey 32-19 in a game where the lead swopped several times.

intan Cummin’s early penalty put Ramsey ahead. Akkie van den Berg’s try, converted by Leigh Kennaugh then put Vagas in front.

Matty Williams’s try doubled the Vagas tally but with Cummins chipping away at the other end with penalties, Ramsey were right in the game at 14-12.

James Wren’s try just before half-time gave Ramsey a 19-14 lead but a late first-half penalty from Jonny Beckley reduced the deficit to just two points at half-time.

Kennaugh took the lead back for Vagas with a penalty early in the second half before an Adam Matheson try gave them a decisive 25-19 lead. A late penalty try conceded by Ramsey denied them even a losing bonus point.

Douglas thrash Sefton

Douglas recorded a resounding 50-17 win away at Sefton and maintained their push for promotion. After trailing 10-0 early on, Douglas rallied and tries from Will Latta, Bryn Snellgrove and Rob Todd put them 21-10 up at half-time.

In the second half, Latta added two more for his hat-trick and there were also tries from Simon Heggs and Callum Carine. Snellgrove kicked a penalty and six conversions as Douglas racked up a big score and another bonus-point win.
