RYCOB take bragging rights in northern derby with Ayre

All the football results from Tuesday, September 4

PRE-SEASON promotion favourites Ayre suffered a second successive defeat in JCK Division Two last night as they lost 1-2 to northern rivals RYCOB in Andreas.

Goals from Ste Grose (RYCOB) and Tony Corlett against the club he left in the summer saw the two sides turnaround all square. Ruairi Poole then struck in the second half to send Mark Christian’s side top of the second tier standings.

Just behind Youthie in second are Colby who downed Douglas Royal 0-2 at Ballafletcher. Elsewhere Douglas Athletic secured their first win since their name change from Police, beating Douglas and District 5-3 in an entertaining derby tie at Springfield Road. James Horton led the way for the boys in pink with a hat-trick joining Danny O’Hare and Chris Moore on the scoresheet for Athletic.

Onchan maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-2 draw with Pulrose, while Malew recorded their second win of the season at Braddan.

In the division’s remaining game Foxdale defeated Ronaldsway 6-2 at Billy Goat Park.
