In the fourth round of group matches in this season’s Warehouse Fitness Women’s Floodlit Cup, Peel registered their most impressive win to date defeating five-time winners Douglas Royal in a pulsating match.

The westerners led 3-0 at half-time courtesy of a Sarah Wignall hat-trick, the Whites’ consolation came via a second-half Donna Shimmin effort.

Colby and DHSOB got their first point of the Floodlit Cup campaign following a 1-1 draw. A Ceri Purvis strike ensured the Blackberry Lane outfit took a first-half lead, however, this was cancelled out via a second-half Melissa McKnight penalty.

A full round-up of all the women’s football will appear in this week’s Manx Independent.
