IOMA Group Bacchas A wrestled the Wi-Manx Mixed Premier Division title away from 2011 champions Paragon Valkyrs A with a 4-1 victory in the deciding game at the National Sports Centre on Saturday lunchtime.

Jamie Brown scored two of the goals for the Tromode side, with Sharon Pope and Claire-Louise Lace adding further strikes.

Greg Miller pulled one back for Valkyrs in the closing minutes of the game, switched from Ramsey, but it was not enough to deny the spoils to Bacchanalians’ combination of wise old heads and young legs, who have won all bar one of their matches this season.

Celton Manx Celts ensured they retained their Premier Division status with a 5-2 victory over Paragon Valkyrs B. A hat-trick from team captain Paul Kelly and two goals from Christian Steriopulos proved more than enough for Celts.

No details of the Valkyrs scorers were received.

Wi-Manx Mixed Division One

Paragon Valkyrs C secured the Wi-Manx Mixed Division One title with a 4-2 victory over title rivals Fearless Sabres. Goals from Becca Nathan, Juan Killey, Mark Moyer and Simon Sheath proved enough for Vic Ferns’s Valkyrs side.

Manx Telecom Vikings C ensured their safety in Division One while condemning opponents Celton Manx Cushags Colts to relegation. A single goal from Alex Birch and two from Jan Carney proved more than enough for Vikings. Harry Brindle was the only Cushags player to find the net.

IOMA Group Bacchas C put Celton Manx Cammags to the sword, netting on seven occasions while conceding just two. Tony Bentley-Roberts, Craig Leece and Terence George netted two goals apiece, with a single strike for Steph Foxton. Mark Castle and Will Grundy replied for Cammags.

The points were shared between HQ Harlequins A and IOMA Group Bacchas Colts. The Nuttalls, Paul and Peter, scored the goals for Harlequins, Paul with two and Pete one. Richard Weir, Ed Knight and Jack Barker replied for Bacchas.

HQ Harlequins B claimed a 7-1 victory over bottom-placed side Fearless Sharks. No details of the Harlequins scorers were received. James Russell was the only Sharks player to find the net.

Wi-Manx Mixed Under-16s

CM Skye Rascals maintained their unbeaten run with a 3-1 victory over Manx Telecom Vikings. Goals from Sam Robertson, Aaron Bell and Toby Wiltcher proved enough for Rascals. Andy Ashbridge replied for Vikings.

Paragon Valkyrs claimed a 1-0 victory over HQ Harlequins thanks to a Rory Lavin goal.

IOMA Group Bacchas secured both points on offer from their match with CM Skye Rogues. Goals from Sam Riordan and two from Georgia Perry secure the points for the Tromode side, but no details of the Rogues scorer was received.

l Results for inclusion in Monday’s edition of the Isle of Man Examiner should be submitted to Paul Harris straight after the game if at all possible, or emailed to sportsdesk@newsiom.co.im with full names and match details no later than midday Sunday.
