Big opening victory for Valkyrs D

Wi-Manx Mixed Division Two

Paragon Valkyrs D began their season with a bang putting nine goals past Fearless Sharks while conceding just three at Castle Rushen on Saturday afternoon.

Graham Shimmin led the way for Valkyrs netting a hat-trick, Jake Killey scored twice with single strikes for Kaitlin Shimmin, Paul Scambler, Helen Cowley and captain Donna Shimmin. Sharks replied through Phil Riley and George Powell with two.

CM Skye Ravens claimed an impressive 5-0 victory over HQ Harlequins B. Tom Howard and Christina Kermeen both netted two goals apiece with Barry Mellor rounding off the scoring.

Celton Manx Southerners secured an opening-day victory over Manx Telecom Vikings D.

Robin Masson grabbed the lion’s share of the goals with a hat-trick with Miles Ashworth adding a single strike. Sammy Bowden netted both goals for Vikings.

CM Skye Rookies claimed a narrow 3-2 victory over IoMA Group Bacchas D. Sam Moffat and Dan Stevenson (2)were the Rookies scorers. Chris Hill and Dave Partington replied for the Tromode side.
