WHITE House Valkyrs A emerged victorious in their match with IoMA Group Bacchas A 3-1 to lift the Wi-Manx Mixed Cup at the NSC on Saturday afternoon.
Bacchas went into the match looking to complete a league and cup double, but despite taking an early lead they were unable to add the cup to their league title.
Sean Corlett gave the Tromode side an early lead when his shot found the back of the net thanks to a deflection off Will Margot’s stick in the Valkyrs goal.
Jamie Brown’s Bacchas side maintained their lead into the second half before Gareth Morris levelled for the westerners.
Morris was again on hand to take Valkyrs into the lead before a further goal from Andrea Kneen in the final minutes of the tie ensured Greg Miller’s Valkyrs side claimed the win.
Wi-Manx Mixed Plate
Saracens Sabres added the Wi-Manx Plate to their league title when they beat Celton Manx Cammags 5-0 in the lunchtime fixture at the NSC on Saturday.
Despite the early stages of the game being a close affair, Saracens took the lead when Steve Cottier converted from the penalty spot.
Cammags struggled to get a grip on the game and despite some breaks were unable to find a way through the well organised Sabres defence.
Cottier added a further three goals to his tally, including a second from the penalty spot, before a late strike from Dave Horan rounded off the scoring and ensured that Sabres lifted the plate.
