Wi-Manx Mixed Cup

IOMA Group Bacchas A overcame the challenge of Celton Manx Celts to claim their place in the semi-finals of the Wi-Manx Mixed Cup on Saturday.

Goals from Jonny Callow, Andy Vernon-Browne, Richard le Page and Gareth Craig proved enough for the Tromode side, while Eleanor Gawne and Don Stewart found the net for Celts.

Defending champions Paragon Valkyrs A progressed to the next round with a 4-1 victory over IOMA Group Bacchas B. Ollie Webster hit two for the westerners, joined on the score sheet by Julian Colley and Andrea Kneen.

Manx Telecom Vikings emerged victorious from their match with Paragon Valkyrs B, scoring seven without reply. Andy Harding found the net four times in the first half, adding a fifth after half-time with Katie Errock and Kim Carney rounding off the scoring.

CM Skye Ramsey A claimed a 6-2 victory over a resilient Fearless Saracens Sabres. Nick White led the way for the northerners, netting four, with Hannah Grubb and Matt Grice adding further goals. Steve Cottier scored both goals for Saracens.

Wi-Manx Mixed Plate

Manx Telecom Vikings B maintained their hopes of a league and cup double with victory over Manx Telecom Vikings C at the NSC on Saturday afternoon.

Sarah Blackman led the way for Ian Perry’s Vikings B side with four, joined on the score sheet by Ken Carney, Kirsty Cooper, Mark Dougherty and Chris Hyde. The name of the Vikings scorer was not received.

IOMA Group Bacchas C caused an upset with victory over HQ Harlequins A. The scores were level after full time with the Tromode side victorious in the penalty flick shootout. Adam Hussey netted both goals for Harlequins, with Richard Weir and Tony Bentley-Roberts scoring for Bacchas.

Celton Manx Cammags put Fearless Saracens Sharks to the sword, scoring 11 times while maintaining a clean sheet. Christian Steriopulos scored a hat-trick, while Lois Watterson, Sam Spooner and Mark Corlett scored two apiece with Dave and Paul Wiseman netting single strikes.

Celton Manx Cushags secured their place in the next round with a 4-2 victory over Manx Telecom Vikings D. Goals from Claire Heath, Mark Castle, Fergus Veale and Graeme Brown proved enough for Anthony Cooke’s Cushags side. Ian Duggua and James Lowey replied for Vikings.

Paragon Valkyrs C progressed to the next round at the expense of fellow club side Paragon Valkyrs D. Neil Jacobs and Chris Thomas with two were the goalscorers for Valkyrs third string with Liam Dunn replying for the D team.

Celton Manx Southerners emerged victorious from their match with HQ Harlequins B. Dave Watson opened the scoring for Southerners, with Kay Hullock and Miles Ashworth adding further goals. David Smith found the net for Harlequins before half-time. Second-half goals from Paul Harris and Dan Jacobs ensured the win for Southerners.

IOMA Group Bacchas Colts claimed a 3-0 victory over CM Skye Rookies thanks to goals from Juan Quine and two from Aimee McGarry.

CM Skye Ravens moved into the next round with a convincing 6-1 victory over Celton Manx Cosney. Simon Renton scored three, Finn Cain two and Iain Wood a single strike. Glenn Bannister was the lone Cosney scorer.

Wi-Manx Under-16 Mixed League

CM Skye Ramsey Rogues claimed a shock victory over IOMA Group Bacchas in the lunchtime fixture at the Grammar School. Nick White led the way for Rogues, netting a hat-trick, with Matt Grice grabbing two and Nat Smith a single strike. Tom Evans and James Harrison replied for Bacchas.

Honours ended even between Celton Manx Castletown and CM Skye Ramsey Rascals. Thomas Tsitsos, Monique Lloyd-Davies and Juan Kermeen found the net for Rascals with Castletown replying through Hannah Dixon and Harry Brindle with two.

Manx Telecom Vikings emerged narrow victors in their match with Paragon Valkyrs. Arron Hinds and Breeshey Foxton scored for Vikings with Juan Killey replying for Valkyrs.
