Vikings end Bacchas’ 100 per cent record

IOMA Group Bacchas A lost their 100 per cent start to the Wi-Manx Mixed Premier Division season as Manx Telecom Vikings A came from behind to claim a share of the points at the National Sports Centre on Saturday afternoon.

Jonny Killey gave Vikings the lead before goals from Jonny Callow and Andy Whiting shifted the advantage to Bacchas.

The Tromode side looked to be closing in on victory before a last-gasp goal from Killey saw Vikings draw level.

Paragon Valkyrs B secured victory over bottom side Manx Telecom Vikings B. Chris Thomas and Chris Killey found the net for Valkyrs with Kat Gatherer the only Vikings player to score.

Wi-Manx Mixed Plate

Paragon Valkyrs C ensured their league and cup double hopes remained intact with a 3-2 victory over IOMA Group Bacchas Colts.

Two goals from Vic Ferns and a strike from Sian Murphy proved enough for the westerners. Richard Weir and Fay Wilcox replied for Bacchas.

Fearless Sabres booked their place in the quarter-finals but needed to rely on a penalty shootout in their match with Paragon Valkyrs D.

Neither side was able to find the net in normal time, with Sabres eventually securing a 4-3 victory in the shootout.

IOMA Group Bacchas C claimed victory over Celton Manx Cushags Colts to progress to the next round. Tony Bentley-Roberts and Craig Leece netted two apiece with Tom Beresford and Jess Botha adding further goals. Cushags replied through James Allen and Harry Brindle, who each scored twice.

HQ Harlequins A secured a 4-0 victory over Celton Manx Cammags, courtesy of the Nuttall brothers. Peter scored a hat-trick, with Paul adding a single strike.

Manx Telecom Vikings D almost caused an upset in their match with CM Skye Ravens, before the latter side ultimately clinched it 2-1 on penalty flicks.

Ravens scored through a Tom Howard hat-trick and a single goal from Hannah Grubb, while Vikings replied through Andy Ashbridge with two and one each from Aaron Hynes and Jon Emery.

CM Skye Rookies claimed a 3-2 victory over Celton Manx Southerners. Robin Masson gave Southerners the lead before Rebecca Jones equalised for Rookies. Goals from Dan Stevenson and Mike Spooner saw Rookies move clear before Masson netted a late second for Southerners.

Manx Telecom Vikings C emerged victorious from their match with Celton Manx Cosney. Dani Kelly and Dave Elliott netted two apiece, with Jess Tarpey adding a further goal. No details of the Cosney scorers were received.
