REIGNING Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield champions PDMS Southern Nomads were due to face Emerging Nomads this weekend aiming to keep their place at the top of the standings.

However, that derby has been postponed because of the torrential rain on Thursday and will now take place at a later later

The game of the day on paper has so far survived the weather, however, at Poulsom Park where Castletown take on Ramsey B. Town lost in the opening round to Emerging Nomads and Ramsey B ran up a big score against the same side last weekend. I expect this one will be a little closer. Town are a tidy outfit especially at Poulsom Park and they will provide a stern test for Ramsey and could even sneak a win.

The final game of the day is at Port-e-Chee where Douglas B finally take to the field against Western Vikings after two weekends off. Douglas currently occupy bottom spot in the standings but have played just two games so far. Vikings may find this one slightly easier than last week’s opposition, but I suspect Douglas will be too strong for them.
