Date change for visit of snooker legends

TWO of snooker’s most iconic names will visit the island at the end of August when Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White go head-to-head at the Mount Murray Hotel in a exhibition match.

The event had originally been scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 28 but will now be on Friday, August 31 with dinner starting at 7.45pm following a VIP reception at 7pm.

Recently retired seven-time world champion Hendry and the charismatic White will be joined at the event by BBC snooker commentator John Virgo and World Championship final referee Michaela Tabb, both of whom have visited the island in the past.

After the main event, selected members of the public will get the experience of a lifetime as they take on the stars of the green baize in the three additional frames.

Tickets for the evening are priced at £600 for a table of 10 although individual tickets are available. This includes a full three-course dinner and all the evening’s entertainment.

Mount Murray are also offering discounted rooms at £60 per double/twin including breakfast. There will also be a pool table on site for residents to have a late drink and play against White and Hendry.
