The Isle of Man cycling team continued a great start to the NatWest Island Games with double gold in the mountain bike cross-country event on Monday.
Nick Corlett went off like a rocket and led into the first corner, after which he was never headed.
At the end of a dominant performance he was some two minutes in front of the runner-up from Menorca.
Third place was lost when former multiple champion Elliot Baxter suffered a puncture on the penultimate lap and slipped to fourth.
The team of Corlett, Baxter, Rob Sorby, Joe Haddock and Daniel Curtis took the gold medal in the team contest. The undulating course was almost directly next door to Jersey’s international airport.
