ENTRIES for this weekend’s 50th annual Easter Athletics Festival are at a level not seen since its heyday in the 1980s.
No fewer than 355 applications had been received by the official closing date of March 24, but entries will be accepted for a small supplement up to 45 minutes before the start of each race.
Chris Quine, of Manx Harriers’ organising team commented: ‘Such big fields will be a great way to celebrate the 50th festival. If we can attract more local entries over the next few days there is a chance we might even break the all-time record of 378 finishers in a single race on Good Friday.’
The races are open to all standards but a minimum age of 15 on the day applies.
Marshals are required, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 487873.
