Manx swimming sensation adds bronze to his two silver medals in time of 54.55 seconds
MANX swimmer Grant Halsall completed a hat-trick of Commonwealth Youth Games medals in the NSC pool on Sunday evening when he finished third in the men’s 100m backstroke.
The talented teen, who had already claimed two medals in the stroke’s 200m and 50m variations, was pipped to a third silver of the weekend by half a second by Australian Robert Gerlach. New Zealand’s Corey Main came first in a time of 53.53 seconds.
Fellow Manx swimmer Charlotte Atkinson finished just outside the medals in the women’s 400m individual medley. The Island Games medallist finished seven seconds behind Scottish pair Emily Jones and Fiona Donnelly who couldn’t be split for bronze in a race that was won by Northern Ireland’s Sycerika McMahon from England’s Elena Sheridan,
