Jess all set for Sunday’s marathon

MANX Dane Jess Draskau-Petersson is hoping that her body will hold together for the women’s marathon on Sunday.

The Danish born athlete, with a Manx mother, spent her formative years in the Isle of Man and was educated at Peel’s QEII High School.

A former world-class ultra-distance triathlete and duathlete, Jess’s biggest worry on the run-up to the London Olympics has been a string of niggling injuries - including a back complaint.

‘I’ve been running injured since last October and in a lot of pain, but I’m attacking it with Osteo, massage and acupuncture,’ said the Teddington-based athlete yesterday.

l The women’s Olympic Marathon starts at 11am on Sunday. Keep up to date at iomtoday.co.im/sport
