Manx rugby player Phil Cringle has been picked in Scotland’s 28-man squad for June’s IRB Junior World Cup in New Zealand.
The Edinburgh Rugby prop has been on loan at Scottish Premiership club Edinburgh Academicals this season and played for Scotland in the U20 Six Nations earlier this year.
The World Cup will be held in Auckland where the Scots will face tough pool games against South Africa (Monday, June 2, kick-off 3.35pm local time), Samoa (Friday, June 6 3.35pm) and hosts New Zealand (Wednesday, June 10, 7.35pm).
With his contract in the Scottish capital expiring in the summer the Tower Insurance Scholarship recipient will be hoping to impress potential new clubs ahead of the next season.
Last year, Scotland finished in 10th place in the tournament.
