Castletown Lawn Tennis Club held its 2012 championships at the Malew Street courts last week.

There were singles events for men, women and boys under-16. In addition there were mini tennis red and orange events for those aged four to 10.

The mini tennis red was played in two groups with the winners and runners-up going through to the semi-finals.

Semi-finals: Connor Moughtin beat Liam Savage 7/3; Jackson Katz bt Matthew Ashley 7/6. Final: Jackson Katz bt Connor Moughtin 7/6

The mini tennis orange was played as a round robin and was won by Scott Mason and the runner-up was Jonty Bregazzi.

Other results: Boys singles, 16-and-under round robin: Luca Simmons lost to Hadyn McLarney 2/6, beat Nathan Frankwick 6/0 and lost to Seth Aycock 6/7; Hadyn McLarney bt Luca Simmons, 6/2 bt Nathan Frankwick 6/0 and bt Seth Aycock 6/1; Nathan Frankwick lost to Luca Simmons 0/6. lost to Hadyn McLarney 0/6 and lost to Seth Aycock 2/6; Seth Aycock bt Luca Simmons 7/6, lost to Hadyn McLarney 1/6 and bt Nathan Frankwick 6/2. Overall winner - Hadyn McLarney; Runner-up - Seth Aycock.

Women’s singles, first round: Sarah Breed bt Kirree Ronan 6/4, 6/3. Semi-finals: Lucy Kerr bt Nicola Skillicorn 6/0, 6/0; Sarah Breed bt Justine Torry 6/1, 6/3. Final - Lucy Kerr bt Sarah Breed 6/4, 7/5.

Women’s playback, Semi-final: Justine Torry bt Kirree Ronan 6/4, 4/6 (10/3). Final - Justine Torry bt Nicola Skillicorn 1/6, 6/1 (10/3).

At the conclusion of play on finals day, trophies were presented to the finalists by club vice-president Elaine Ronan. Club secretary Richard Kerr thanked tournament organiser Kirree Ronan for her hard work during the week.
