Kent and McGurk claim lightweight Manx Grand Prix crowns

NEIL Kent claimed a comfortable flag-to-flag victory in today, Friday's, Lightweight Manx Grand Prix.

Riding at number one, the 48-year-old from Boston in Lincolnshire brought his 250cc Yamaha home more than a minute and a half from runner-up Tom Snow.

Stuart Garton completed the top three, while pre-race favourite Dan Sayle was lucky not to be seriously hurt when his Honda seized near Alexandra Drive on the first lap.

The Manx TT sidecar ace, however, is still expected to contest this afternoon's Senior MGP on his Sandbach Scrap Metals Yamaha.

In the ultra lightweight race, Philip McGurk clamied victory in a race record time from Rab Davie and Joe Phillips.

The festival's racing concludes this afternoon with the Senior Manx Grand Prix. The action is scheduled to get under way at 2.15pm.
