NIAGARA FALLS: Ray Shooter stands in front of an awesome backdrop after completing the Niagara Falls International Marathon recently

PROLIFIC marathon man Ray Shooter of Ballasalla has just returned from running three events in four weeks.

The most recent one, the Niagara Falls International, marked Ray’s 184th over the 26.2-mile distance and produced the 70-year-old with a class win in the over-70s.

The race started in Buffalo, United States of America and ended over the border in Niagara Falls, Canada.

While in the latter country Ray met two of the sport’s great age-group marathoners. One was Ed Whitlock, the age 70-81 multi-world record holder, the only 70-year-old to break three hours. The other was Fauja Singh, who is still running at 101 and last year completed a 7hr 40min marathon.

There’s plenty of time for Ray to notch up a few more marathons!
