Nomads continue title defence at Parkonians
PDMS Southern Nomads travel to Parkonians this Saturday in the latest leg of their Cheshire Plate defence.
The tie is the reverse of last year’s semi-final when Nomads beat Parkonians at Castle Rushen in freezing conditions.
The Birkenhead side have, however, been going well in this year’s league competition and Nomads have a tough job ahead of them.
The men in green were in majestic form last weekend when they put Ramsey B to the sword at Mooragh Park running in 13 tries in all.
Skipper Harry Brereton helped himself to four while the Landels brothers, Gerard and Leon, picked up five between them.
That Ramsey side was far from inexperienced too and Nomads on the day were just far better organised.
Skipper Brereton misses out this Saturday though and the captain’s armband (if there was one) will go to Rob Keelan who returns to the team after a week off.
Parkonians have made a flying start to the season in South Lancs/Cheshire Division Three winning three from three.
They slipped up last weekend though losing at home 17-13 to Manchester Medics.
This will surely create a little bit of doubt in the minds of the Merseysiders and Nomads have a better than even chance of making their second consecutive Cheshire Plate final.
