Glen Vine’s Nick Corlett won the Microgaming-sponsored off-road duathlon at a dark and chilly South Barrule Plantation on Sunday morning.
He took the lead from top fell runner Lloyd Taggart towards end end of the first lap of the 10km cycle, at which point he was shadowed for a short while by Paul Renshaw ( as in this picture). Renshaw’s bid came to a sudden end shortly after with a broken chain. Lloyd Taggart took huge a amount of time out of Corlett on the final 3km run, but the teenager held on to win by a couple of seconds. Full report in this week’s Manx Independent
