RAMSEY host Marple at Mooragh Park on Saturday looking for four or even five points to move them clear of the relegation places at the bottom end of South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.
Ramsey are currently just outside the drop zone and with just six games remaining, are anxious for points.
A win over Marple could lift the Manx side out of danger and with fellow strugglers Oldershaw and Buxton both facing tough encounters, it may just give them a little breathing space.
Marple haven’t managed a win on the road anywhere this season and have conceded on average almost 40 points a game. This coupled with Ramsey’s pretty good home form, gives the Mooragh Park faithful some cause for optimism.
There are no reported injuries in the Ramsey camp after last week’s away defeat at Moore and a full-strength team is expected.
Andy Cleator, Lance Wyllie, John F. Watling and Peter Verrall were all absent last weekend but all could return for this vital game, to add the snap which was missing on Saturday.
Cleator’s boot was on target for the second team and his return could provide Ramsey with some extra kicking options.
A big crowd is expected at the Mooragh with the game being sponsored by a group of former players who will no doubt regale the current team with stories of past glories, especially after the match.
During the match, however, they’ll be providing some partisan support and everything will be crossed for a five pointer.
