RAMSEY start 2012 with a bang when high-flying Crewe and Nantwich visit the Mooragh Park in South Lancashire and Cheshire Division Two.
Crewe currently lie in a three-way tie for second place with Ruskin Park and Oswestry and will be looking to take points from their visit to the island.
They beat Ramsey 37-24 back in September and will want maximum points again after the Manx side’s slump in form has left them struggling in a relegation position.
Sleeves up and knuckles down will surely be the order of the day for Davide Mazzone’s team in 2012.
They’re in a difficult position at the bottom end of the table but the players know that there is a fine line between winning and losing and the team is simply too talented to go down.
There will, however, need to be an increase in the training and travelling commitment of the players.
Pete Verrall looks to be back to fitness again after missing much of the opening part of the season with injury. Pete’s return should provide some extra va-va-voom in the forwards with unlucky stand in Craig Walmsley dropping to the bench.
Ramsey know that Crewe favour a fast-running game and that should suit them at the Mooragh.
The Manx side will be hoping for a big result before next week’s vital trip to relegation rivals Trentham.
