The Microgaming Isle of Man Triathlon Championships taking place this Sunday at Ramsey have received a record entry of approximately 100 competitors.

The standard race involves a 1,500 metre swim, a 40km bike ride and a 10km run (the sprint is half of these distances).

In addition, quite a number are taking part in the team events.

It will be a 9am start to the swim element in Mooragh Lake for both distance categories and the teams too, with 45 men and six women expected for the longer event, plus 15 men and 11 women for the sprint.

The cycle takes in Bride and Andreas, while the run is concentrated on Mooragh Park and North Shore Promenade areas.

Leading names for the longer distance include Andy Nash, Juan Kinley, Roger Raatgever, Kristian Cowin and Andy Isaac, while Carlyn Brown could be the one to watch in the women’s sprint event.
