Red hot favourite Richard Gerrard beat the red hot conditions to win the 2014 Manx Telecom Parish Walk on Saturday.
The 2012 joint winner scooped his second Parish title with a dominant performance that saw him lead virtually lead from the off of the 85-mile slog round the island.
Gerrard came home around 35 minutes outside his own course record in a time of 15 hours, 15 minutes and 20 seconds despite suffering from bouts of sickness from Andreas onwards.
David Walker was second home 38 minutes behind Gerrard. Richard Wild was a further 10 minutes back in third.
Janette Morgan was first woman home in a time of 16:48:14. Morgan, who finished sixth overall, was 13 minutes quicker than second woman Janice Quirk.
Earlier in the day Alex Eaton won the under-21s’ race to Peel in what is believed to be a new record of 5:44:58. Craig Fletcher was second and Chris Biddulph third, while Danielle Oates was first u21 woman to complete the 32.5 miles to the Sunset City.
