Richardson claims eighth Manx Grand Prix crown
ROY Richardson claimed his eighth Manx Grand Prix title this afternoon, Thursday, with victory in the rescheduled Senior Classic race.
It looked as if the Blackpool ace would have to settle for second on his Aermacchi, but long-time leader Alan Oversby retired his MV at Guthries on the last lap to hand the victory to Monday's Junior Classic winner.
Paul Coward steered his Nourish Westlake home to second, while completing the top three was Dave Matravers on his Matchless after a storming ride in perfect conditions.
Their was Manx success in the race's 750 class with Peel resident Chris McGahan taking the honours from regular TT and MGP competitor David Madsen-Mygdal.
The week's racing continues tomorrow, Friday, with the four-lap Lightweight/Ultra Lightweight MGP in the morning and blue riband Senior MGP in the afternoon.
Roads close at 9.30am with racing scheduled to get under way at 10.15am.
