Vagas head to Wallasey
SURE-SPONSORED Vagabonds travel away off island to face Wallasey this Saturday looking to put the disappointment of last week’s home defeat at the hands of Sefton firmly behind them.
Vagas started last weekend’s encounter with the South Lancashire and Cheshire Division Two leaders slowly and were punished for it.
Skipper Mark Howarth will be hoping for a good start in the Wirral so that the Manx outfit are not playing catch up rugby.
Ross Pulman will unfortunately miss the next few weeks after dislocating his shoulder against Sefton.
Matty Williams will move up into backrow alongside Jamie Cooke and the experienced Brian Kennaugh will pack down at number eight. Howarth will slot into his preferred position of lock to provide some bite at the breakdown.
In the backline the impressive form of Mark McGreal and flyer Steve Gawne in last week’s second team outing has seen them promoted.
Vagabonds also welcome back the talented Aidan O’Shea at stand-off with Jonny Beckley moving in one to play scrum-half.
This is another game that Vagabonds will be targeting a win on the road in.
