Vagas on the road again

SURE-sponsored Vagabonds travel away again this weekend for their third consecutive away match in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.

With two bonus-point wins in the bag the Manx outfit will be looking to make it three. Sunny Southport is the destination this weekend in what promises to be another cracker of a match.

The pack will have only one change with the robust Luke Purdy slotting into the loose-head position to replace Liam Kinley who is unable to travel because of other commitments. Behind them, Rob Martin is filling in nicely alongside the barn storming Bryn Griffith in the second row. This is allowing skipper Mark Howarth to roam the park from the base of the scrum.

Changes will be made in the backline due to the unavailability of the outstanding Sam Brennan who returns to university. The impressive Ed Alderson and Aidan O’Shea are also missing due to off-island excursions, however, the selection headache should be eased after the impressive showing last weekend of James Hammal, Sam Cannell and veteran Jetro Kruger in the club’s second team draw at Southern Nomads.

This will be Vagabonds toughest test to date, but he Manx side will be travelling full of confidence. If the pack perform like they have been doing then the likes of Tom Gascoyne, Sam Liver and Ross McCullouch will certainly get chances to shine.
