Dave Moffitt takes honours in Supertwin and Billy Smith wins Lightweight

WILLASTON’S Dave Moffitt and Douglas man Billy Smith made it an Isle of Man double at the Manx Grand Prix in challenging conditions on Wednesday afternoon.

The Manx pair took the honours respectively in the combined Supertwin and Lightweight race, Moffitt winning by 23 seconds in the former and Smith by 28 seconds in the latter.

In athe four-lap contest that was effected by showers on the Mountain, Moffitt took his spoils ahead of Joe Phillips who relegated Phil Harvey into third by just two seconds.

Fourth was Shaun Anderson with Michael Sweeney fifth.

In the Lighweight race Smith finished ahead of Alistair Howarth with Ross Johnson completing the podium places in third.

David Yoemans came home fourth with Daniel Millard fifth.
