Two TT stars of recent years and one icon from the 1970s and 1980s will be back racing on the Mountain Course again next year.
Ryan Farquhar and Keith Amor will ride the Supertwin TT, while the big shock is the announcement that nine-time winner Charlie Williams will contest the Classic TT next August.
Williams last raced in the TT in 1984, so his ride on the Works Racing Motorcycles 500cc Norton in the Senior Classic will see him bridge a 30-year gap between appearances on the course - surely the longest for a top-line rider.
‘I really wanted to be involved in the Classic TT, but didn’t envisage ever racing in it,’ said 63-year-old Charlie this week.
